“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” — Romans 5:8
See a courtroom where the evidence is undeniable—the stains of pride, the fingerprints of greed, the cold record of every missed mark. There is no defense to be made, no merit to claim. We sit in the prisoner’s dock, waiting for the inevitable sentence. Then, the Judge Himself stands up, removes His robes of majesty, and walks to the seat of the condemned. He doesn’t wait for us to reform, to apologize, or to wash our hands. He steps into our mess while the grime is still fresh on our skin. He demonstrates His love not at our best, but at our absolute worst.
Let this scandalous grace break our pride. If He loved us when we were His enemies, how much more will He hold us now that we are His own? May we be transformed by the vulnerability of a God who died for us before we even knew we needed Him. Let His kindness lead you to a repentance that is not fueled by shame, but by an awestruck devotion to the One who took your place.
Prayer: Jesus, I cannot comprehend why You would choose me in my brokenness. Thank You for not waiting for me to get it right before You gave Your life. Let this grace change the way I see myself and everyone around me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
