“Jesus told her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.’” — John 11:25
Death is the ultimate enemy, the final word that seems to mock all our hopes and dreams. We face it in the loss of loved ones, the end of seasons, and the eventual decay of our own bodies. But Jesus stands at the door of the tomb and declares that death is not a period, but a comma. Because He is the Resurrection, He has the power to undo the grave. He doesn’t just promise a future hope; He brings the power of the next world into the brokenness of this one, breathing life into that which was once considered lost.
This promise changes the way we grieve and the way we live. We do not have to live in the shadow of the cemetery, because our King has the keys to death and Hades. This “Life” He offers is not just about duration but about quality—living in the vibrant, indestructible joy of the Kingdom. Even as we face the “deaths” of our current circumstances, we can look for renewal and the promise that the best is always yet to come through Jesus.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank You that death has no final sting because You have conquered the grave. Even when I face situations that seem dead or hopeless, I choose to believe in Your power to resurrect and restore. I fix my hope on You, the author of eternal life. Amen.
