The Accomplished Blueprint

“Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.” — Matthew 5:17

Speaking to a crowd gathered on a mountainside, Jesus addressed the tension between the ancient traditions of the Law and the new kingdom He was inaugurating. He clarified that He was not a rebel tearing down the foundation of Israel’s faith, but the Architect arriving to complete the structure. The Law was the blueprint; Jesus was the building.

For centuries, the Law stood as a towering, majestic mountain range—beautiful but impassable. Christ came as the perfect climber who scaled every peak and bridged every canyon on our behalf. He invites us to look upon Him as the One who conquered the summit we could never reach, planting the flag of victory atop the heights of our redemption. We can now come and rest in the finished work of the One who is the “Yes” and “Amen” to every promise God ever made, resting fully in the perfection of Jesus.

Prayer: Father God, I am humbled by the perfection of Your Word. I thank You that Jesus lived the life I could not live and fulfilled the requirements I could never meet. I choose to stop striving to earn Your love and instead embrace the righteousness that Christ has completed for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
