The Great Physician

“And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf. The lame will leap like a deer, and those who cannot speak will shout and sing!” — Isaiah 35:5-6

This passage is a song of restoration for a land and a people ravaged by judgment. Isaiah points toward a future where the curse of the Fall is systematically reversed, not just in the spirit, but in the very flesh of God’s people. When John the Baptist later questioned if Jesus was truly the One, Jesus pointed to the fulfillment of these specific physical miracles as His ultimate “identity card.”

The Promised Healer moves through the corridors of human infirmity like a sudden burst of spring. At His touch, the scales of spiritual blindness fall away, and the silence of the deaf is shattered by the melody of His voice. Jesus invites us to bring our brokenness to the edge of His path. Whether it is a heart that has gone numb or a voice silenced by shame, we can leap into His presence with the abandon of children, trusting that we are made whole by the touch of Jesus.

Prayer: Father God, I come to You with my physical infirmities and the deeper, quiet hurts of my heart. I ask for Your healing touch to mend the brokenness of my soul, opening my eyes to Your truth and my ears to Your whispers of love. Give me the strength to walk in Your ways and a song of praise to fill my mouth as You restore all that has been lost. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
