Proof Beyond Reproof

“During the forty days after he suffered and died, he appeared to the apostles from time to time, and he proved to them in many ways that he was actually alive. And he talked to them about the Kingdom of God.” — Acts 1:3

Faith is not a blind leap into a dark void; it is a confident step onto a solid foundation built of “many convincing proofs.” For forty days, the resurrected Christ moved through the world like a living manifesto of the coming Kingdom. He ate fish on the shore, walked through walls in the city, and taught on the mountainsides, providing a mountain of evidence that His victory was total and physical. These proofs were the scaffolding that allowed the early church to stand against the storms of persecution; they knew He was alive because they had touched Him, heard Him, and seen Him consume food in their presence.

The Resurrection is the most well-attested fact of ancient history, a truth so robust that it transformed cowardly deserters into courageous martyrs. We are not following cleverly devised myths, but the historical Reality of a King who conquered the grave. This evidence gives us the intellectual and spiritual “spine” to stand firm in a world that mocks our hope. We don’t just feel that He is alive; we know it with a certainty that anchors our souls. Our hope is grounded in the undeniable, historical triumph of Jesus.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for the unshakable foundation of my faith and for the many witnesses who stood fast in the truth of what they saw. Strengthen my spirit with the certainty of the empty tomb so that I may not be tossed about by the changing opinions of this world. Help me to live as a person who is thoroughly convinced of Your Kingdom and Your power. I build my life, my family, and my future on the historical fact of the risen Jesus. Amen.
