Verse: “…and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (Psalm 23:6b)
The name Jehovah Maon (Psalm 90:1) reveals God as our “Dwelling Place” or “Refuge.” This name signifies that God Himself is the destination we have been traveling toward. While the Shepherd led us through pastures and valleys, the journey ends not in a location, but in a Relationship—a permanent Tabernacle where the wandering of the soul finally ceases.
To “dwell in the house of the Lord forever” is to move from being a traveler to being a resident. Jehovah Maon is the Sanctuary where we are fully known and fully loved. In this Home, there are no more shadows, no more scarcity, and no more predators. It is the realization that we were created for His presence, and our hearts are restless until they find their ultimate rest in Him. Seeking Jehovah Maon means choosing to live today as a citizen of that eternal Kingdom.
We recognize our true Home when we feel that holy “apartness” from the world, realizing that our ultimate security isn’t in a building or a bank account, but in the Person of God. We encounter Him when we realize that even now, through His Spirit, He has made His home in us so that we might one day make our home in Him. The long walk of the sheep concludes in the warm, welcoming halls of our Eternal Sanctuary, Jehovah Maon.
Prayer: Jehovah Maon, My Eternal Home, I thank You that my journey ends in Your arms. Forgive me for trying to build my permanent home in a world that is passing away. I set my heart on the sanctuary of Your presence and the dwelling place You have prepared for me. Thank You for being my refuge in every generation and my home for all eternity, Jehovah Maon. Amen.
